Are Mylko mylks any different from the carton varieties?
Yes – in quality and taste! This means a much higher ratio of ingredients to water, no additives, fillers, stabilizers, dairy, soy, carrageenan and xanthan gum or other unnecessary ingredients that are hard to pronounce.
What is cold-pressed mylk?
A hydraulic cold-press applies a large amount of pressure to Mylko’s nuts / seeds / coconut, to maximize mylk extraction without the use of high heat or oxygen, thereby keeping enzymes and nutritional integrity in tact.
Does Mylko add sugar to its mylks?
No! Our products do not contain any refined sugars. Any sweetness is either naturally occurring, or from the addition of organic medjool dates or organic Ontario maple syrup.
Are your mylks organic?
Yes – depending on the flavor, our mylks are 95-100% organic.

Can I drink your juice if I’m pregnant or have a weakened immune system?
Because our raw mylks unpasteurized, you should consult with your doctor before consuming.
What do you mean by raw? Unpasteurized?
Pasteurization subjects the product in question to high temperatures followed by a quick cool-down. Although this process substantially extends shelf-life, it also morphs the original product into a "less-living" state. When we use the term “raw”, we mean that nothing has been subjected to high temperatures leaving them as nature intended. For our longer refrigerator life variety, we use cold pressure pasteurization which results in a product much closer to its original state.
How long do your mylks last? Do they need to be refrigerated?
We stand by our raw mylks for 72 hours however in most cases, they usually last longer. Pay attention to the best before date (will be good through this day) on the lid and use your judgment. Our longer refrigerator life varieties last 2-4 weeks unopened and are best consumed within 3-5 days of opening. Our mylks do not contain preservatives and should be always be stored in the refrigerator.
Why does the mylk separate?
Separation occurs due to the dense nut/seed/coconut layer separating from the water. This separation is a testament to the purity of the product – as there are no additives to stop this from happening. Just shake well and it’s perfectly homogenous!
Why glass bottles and what should I do with my empties?
We believe it feels better, looks better and tastes better in a glass bottle, not to mention it’s environmentally friendly! Mylko believes in recycling.
What is “alkaline” water?
Alkaline water is water that has been ionized through a filtration system, raising its pH level from neutral to more alkaline.
The North American diet consists of acidic foods including meat, eggs, refined flour, sugar and coffee. Too much acidity decreases the body’s ability to absorb minerals and other nutrients thereby hindering its ability to repair damaged cells and making it more susceptible to fatigue and illness. Drinking alkaline water helps to neutralize this acid and keep your fluids within their optimal pH range. Don’t hold us to it but it may also offer a boost of energy and help slow the aging process!
Why are Mylko mylks umm…not cheap?
Truth is, making nut / seed / coconut mylks the right way is expensive. Maintaining a raw, perishable product, paying a premium to source high-quality ingredients, supporting local businesses, using cold-press/pressure technology, enabling a recycling program and using glass bottles adds up…and we we wouldn't want it any other way!
